LGA families say that LGA is their Jewish community

Parents are active as class parents for each grade, leading community building activities, and helping implement holiday and other celebrations throughout the year. Our parents help with class events and field trips, open their homes for events and serve on our Board of Directors. Joining our PTO, which organizes many activities both in and out of school throughout the year, is a fun and easy way to meet new people. New ideas are celebrated and the sky’s the limit if you want to be a leader here.

In addition, parents, grandparents and special friends celebrate with us on the regular:

  • Monday Morning Meeting – Join the entire student body and faculty for a rousing Havdallah service with singing, celebrating, class presentations and more.
  • Kabbalat Shabbat – Students, faculty, family and guests gather for a ruach (spirit) filled service as the aroma of kindergarten baked challah lifts our prayers even higher.
  • Family Jewish Education – Through the support of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, each grade holds its own special Jewish event. These include Shabbat dinners, lunch in a Sukkah and our Chaggigat Chumash (Celebration of the Five Books of Torah) and Chaggigat Siddur (Celebration of prayer). The dates can be found on the school calendar.
  • School Assemblies and Plays – LGA is known Valley wide for our amazing class plays, puppet shows, videos and celebrations. Educators who have seen them say they showcase all the learning, kindness, creativity, and curiosity one could hope to cultivate in an elementary school environment.

“I love coming to Kabbalat Shabbat and watching my kids sing and dance with their teachers as we celebrate another week of hard work and learning.”

“It was the social justice curriculum that attracted us. And not just saying you have one, but actually getting the children and the tzedakah over to the Survival Center, or getting involved the pajama drive, etc.”

“I had no intention of sending my child to a Jewish day school. Many things at LGA changed my mind; the 1) very progressive and inclusive atmosphere 2) warm, interested teachers and staff 3) students all sitting on the edges of their seats, fully engaged 4) mission of teaching students to be kind and caring citizens, 5) sunny, beautiful building (not a deciding factor, but a bonus).”

“LGA is a great value! We didn’t think we could afford private school, but the school worked with us to help make it affordable for our family and we’re so glad our child can attend!”
